The London Borough of Bexley has unveiled a year-long programme of cultural and creative events for 2025 – a year of significant local milestones.

#CelebratingBexley will run throughout 2025 - Danson Park’s centenary year, the 500th anniversary of Lesnes Abbey’s dissolution, Crossness Pumping Station’s 160th birthday and the Borough’s 60th anniversary.

The programme includes music, performing arts, exhibitions, crafts and more. The events will take place across the borough, both indoors and outdoors, shining a light on people and places that help make Bexley special.

Cllr Cafer Munur, the council’s Cabinet Member for Place Shaping, said:

Bexley is one of London and the South-East’s best-kept secrets: blessed with an array of cultural treasures and miles of precious green and blue spaces.

It’s a place where creativity thrives, a breeding ground for digital talent and home to world-class theatre training. With London, the Thames and Kent countryside converging in Bexley, the borough has immense potential as an important creative and cultural destination.

#CelebratingBexley is a fantastic opportunity for people to discover the cultural gems and creative talents of our borough.”
