Consultation into a Selective Licensing scheme in Belvedere started this week (22 January).
Selective Licensing is where private-rented properties within a designated area are required to be licensed.
Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing, Cllr Sue Gower MBE said:
Selective Licensing schemes are designed to ensure that rented properties are managed responsibly and help to improve the standard of living for tenants.
Iād urge anyone with links to the area ā whether as a tenant, homeowner, landlord or local business ā to read the proposal and complete the consultation. We'll then be able to consider all options and ensure that we make the right decision for local people.ā
The consultation will run until the 3 April.
