Primary school offers in Bexley

Bexley news update

Offers for primary school places have been made today, Wednesday 16 April.

This year, 98.75% of parents in Bexley applied online and will receive an email after 5pm with details of their child’s offer and further guidance. Letters have been posted today by first-class mail to those who applied using a paper form.

All online applicants will receive an email advising them to log in to their e-admissions account, where they can view their child’s offer and find guidance on what to do next.

There were 2,736 applications from Bexley residents this year, just 26 fewer than last year. Of these, 93.8% of children were offered a place at a Bexley primary school - an increase from 93.5% last year. A total of 92.4% of applicants received their first preference. Meanwhile, 99% secured one of their top three preferences, up from 98.7% last year and 99.3% received one of their six preferences, showing a slight increase from 99.2%.

These results place Bexley among the top five boroughs in London for successfully offering first preference for preferred schools. The borough continues to perform well above the Pan-London average, which saw 87.9% of pupils offered their first preference and 96.6% receiving one of their top three.

Following National Offer Day, there will be 505 places available for any late or in-year applications. The Council continues to work with our schools to plan ahead to ensure that our availability of school places reflects the collaborative pupil place planning work being undertaken.

Cllr Caroline Newton, Cabinet Member for Education, said:

I am incredibly proud of Bexley’s strong performance in this year’s primary school offers. To be ranked in the top five boroughs across London is a reflection of the careful planning and ongoing collaboration between the Council and our schools. Ensuring that over 99% of families receive one of their preferred schools is no small achievement and I want to sincerely thank our School Admissions team for their hard work and commitment to delivering the best outcomes for our children and their families."
