Sidcup Library will be closed from Monday 23 September to Saturday 28 September inclusive to allow layout improvements to take place.
The library is part of the landmark Sidcup Storyteller building that brings together a cinema, café and library, along with new homes on Sidcup High Street.
The changes being made will update the library layout to achieve improved access to the book collections for all library users, but especially wheelchair users and those with mobility difficulties.
They will also make the space more flexible and it is anticipated that more events will be held in the library in the future, ensuring that the new library delivers maximum benefit to residents.
Due dates on books borrowed from Sidcup Library will be extended to ensure that no books are due for return during the closure period.
Customers may return books borrowed from Sidcup Library to any of the other council-managed libraries in the borough.
While Sidcup Library is closed, the nearest libraries will be Central Library in Bexleyheath and Welling Library.
The Storyteller café and cinema will remain open as per their advertised times. Find out more about what’s on at the cinema at the Sidcup Storyteller website.
