The London Borough of Bexley is delivering the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, which is funded by the Department for Education.

The HAF programme provides a variety of fun activities, including sports, food making activities, arts and crafts and other exciting opportunities to learn and develop skills. It’s for school aged children and young people from Reception to Year 11, and runs during the easter, summer and winter school holidays.

Places are funded for those who receive benefits-related Free School Meals (FSM) and attend a school in Bexley. Children and young people also receive a free balanced meal as part of their day.

Benefits-related FSM are available to children and young people if their parents are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits. Please note that they are different from universal infant free school meals (which provide free meals to all pupils in reception, year 1, and year); and the Mayor’s Free School Meals Initiative (which provide free meals to all pupils in Key Stage 2 attending a school in a London Borough).

Paid for places are also available at some of the schemes for those not eligible for the funded places.

HAF Programmes are also running in Bromley, Greenwich and Kent, so families attending schools outside of Bexley will be able to apply to those programmes. Information about them is available here:

Winter Holiday Programme

Between Monday 23 December and Monday 6 January, eligible children and young people will be able to attend up to 4 days at different holiday schemes across Bexley at no cost. The activities are accessible to all children.

Bookings for the funded places on the Winter holiday programme will need to be made on the e-vouchers centralised booking system.  Voucher codes were e-mailed to eligible families on Tuesday 3 December. If you’re eligible for a funded place and didn’t receive one, please contact your school.

Please only book funded places for the days you know your child or young person will attend.

If you book a funded place but find you are no longer able to go, even for a day, please cancel the booking so it can be offered to another child who needs it.

If a child doesn’t attend two or more booked sessions over the Winter and their place isn’t cancelled in advance, unfortunately, this will result in all bookings being cancelled for the remainder of the holiday. This will enable another child to be offered the place.
