Are you eligible for our HUG energy efficiency scheme?
At Bexley, we are strongly committed to helping our residents reduce their living costs, and to protecting our environment.
Bexley has chosen to partner with the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Everwarm to improve the energy efficiency of Bexley homes, which is a practical step against climate change, and will reduce residents’ energy bills.
Everwarm are one of the UK’s leading independent energy services providers. Bexley is supporting Everwarm’s scheme to deliver energy efficiency upgrades to homes through its local Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2 (HUG 2) project. You might have received a letter from Everwarm in the post.
HUG 2 is a UK Government-funded scheme that aims to improve the energy efficiency of homes across England. 100% funding is available for eligible householders that own their property.

The scheme can fund energy efficiency improvements including:
- wall, loft and floor insulation
- low carbon heating
- solar panels
At Bexley, we aim to take practical action to address climate change, working with our communities to protect our environment.
Our homes make up 38% of carbon emissions in our Borough – through HUG 2, we can help reduce this. For more information about the work Bexley is doing to look after the environment, see our Climate Change Statement and Action Plan.
Not only is it good for the environment, but this scheme can increase the energy efficiency of your home, helping to managing energy bills. Everyone is being affected by the rising cost of living, and we know that some people are finding it difficult to make ends meet. If you are worried about energy bills, see Bexley’s support page.

What are the next steps?
For households that are found to be eligible, Everwarm will allocate one of its qualified property surveyors to carry out an assessment of the property. This visit will determine the measures that may be suitable for installation.
Once the proposed upgrade(s) have been approved by Bexley and agreed to by the customer, Everwarm will then allocate its accredited installers to install the selected improvements. Once installed, we will provide each customer with a detailed briefing on how to work their new system(s) and ensure all relevant warranties are in place.
