Obstructions are objects which have been placed on the pavement or road without permission, it is illegal to obstruct the public highway and the Council has the legal powers to enforce their removal.

Obstructions blocking the pavements or roads include:

• A-Boards
• private waste bins on the pavement
• building materials
• cones on the highway
• mud, glass or debris
• overhanging vegetation
• scaffolding
• skips
• stalls and promotional kiosks
• table and chairs
