Mayor's charity appeal

Show the Mayor you care and receive a Bexley Bear

As the 60th Mayor of our wonderful borough, I’d like to make a real difference to Bexley residents who are most in need of support - but I need your help.

In today’s post pandemic world, many of our residents desperately need support for their emotional wellbeing and mental health but struggle to access help because it is unaffordable or waiting lists are too long.

My new Charity Pledge Campaign aims to bring together individuals, organisations and businesses to help raise funds for my chosen charity, Counselling Matters Bexley. This amazing organisation helps change lives in our borough by offering low-cost or free therapy, ensuring they can access support when they need it most.

Over the past four years, Counselling Matters Bexley has seen an astounding 378% increase in referrals for both adults and children. In the last year alone, child referrals to the charity have doubled, highlighting the urgent and growing need for increased mental health support.

But as with any charity, more funds are needed to enable them to deliver these much-needed services. By pledging to donate - whether by way of a direct monetary donation or funds raised from an event - you will have a profound impact. Every act of kindness - no matter how big or small - will create a ripple effect that will transform lives, inspire others to do the same and strengthen our community. Together, we can make a difference.

Each donation of £250 will receive a Bexley Bear presented in person by the Mayor. If you or your organisation are interested in pledging a raffle or auction prize, monies from a fundraising activity or for information about sponsorship opportunities please use the contact details below. I thank you in advance for your generosity and for being an integral part of our beloved local community, of which I am extremely proud.
