Summer 2024
As the magazine went to print we were still waiting for some actual summer weather to come along, but I hope that won’t stop you enjoying some of the great things we have on offer over the next few weeks.
The weather has at least meant that our fantastic parks are looking green and lush at the moment. Our ‘six things’ item is a guide on how we can all make sure we use our parks and open spaces safely for everyone to enjoy. Inside you will also read about our newly refurbished tennis courts made possible by a partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association.
The annual summer reading challenge is already underway in our libraries. It’s always really popular with children, young people and families and a great way to get into reading.
While you are out and about I hope you are able to notice the decrease in fly-tipping across the borough. Successful enforcement campaigns and the introduction of CCTV in some areas has meant that we have seen a reduction in fly-tipping incidents. We are determined to keep our borough clean and green and clamp down on fly-tipping offences as you will see on Recycling and rubbish.
However you decide to spend your summer, I hope you have a great time.
