Welcome to your Spring magazine

It’s great when the evenings start to stay lighter for longer and we begin to see our wonderful parks and open spaces coming to life.

Our parks and playgrounds are just some of the areas that we invest in annually. We explain in detail just how your Council Tax money is spent and how we manage our annual budget to be able to provide the vital services we provide for residents of all ages. We never forget that it is your Council Tax money that we are spending and the careful management of our finances reflects that.

The Bexley Box project that ran throughout December and the start of January was a great success – thanks to the involvement of Council Members, staff and our partners. There is a short round up and a big ‘Thank you’ included in this magazine. We received so many heartwarming messages following the project that there simply wasn’t enough room to include them all.

This magazine also features our #CelebratingBexley campaign. This year sees the 60th anniversary of the Borough, the centenary of Danson Park, the 500th anniversary of the dissolution of Lesnes Abbey and 160 years since Crossness Pumping Station opened. We are bringing together events and highlighting some of our best loved places to visit as a way of marking these great milestones.
