Children who Foster

At Bexley, we recognise that fostering is a family journey, and the children of foster carers play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive home.

That’s why we ensure they receive the guidance, recognition, and support they need—both throughout the fostering assessment and beyond.

During the Assessment Process

From the very start, we take the time to listen to the children of foster carers, ensuring they understand what fostering means and feel included in the journey. We provide age-appropriate information, encourage open discussions, and offer dedicated support sessions to help them express their feelings and ask questions.

Ongoing Support Post-Approval

Once a family is approved to foster, the support continues. We offer regular meet-ups and events where the children of foster carers can connect with others in similar situations, share experiences, and build friendships. Our team is always on hand to provide guidance and reassurance, ensuring they feel valued and heard.

My Mummy helps to look after other children, they come and stay for a few nights and play dolls with me."

Having foster brothers and sisters is really fun because I get to make new friends all the time. My parents say our home is for everyone who needs love, and I like helping them feel happy and safe."
