The KEEP program is a skills training and support group designed for foster and connected carers. KEEP aims to increase the parenting skills of foster and kinship carers, decrease the number of placement disruptions (later moves and step-ups), improve child and teen outcomes and increase the number of positive permanency outcomes/options (e.g., reunification, adoption).
As part of the 16-week programme, carers have been promoted to build positive bonds with the children in their care and understand the traumas that children and young people experience. At the end of the programme, Bexley Fostering Service was proud to award certificates to carers who engaged with the programme and hosted a celebration for the dedication carers have to the children in their family homes.
